The book "Jonathan’s Magical Discoveries" fascinated me, not to mention its companion workbook "Discovering Me". These books would be an enormous help to children, as well as adults, who want to feel good about themselves and to realize their full potential.
I realize how often we have spontaneous negative reflections towards who we are or what we do.
- My nose is too big.
- I can't do anything right.
- I'll never finish this.
These kinds of statements undermine our self-confidence and slow us down. Each of these statements cut us off at the knees and leave us feeling small. They impede our joie de vivre, convincing us that we somehow don’t measure up.
Hana Swieca has succeeded in creating simple tools to help guide us in keeping our inner strength going strong and in stretching our wings to reach our full potential.
One of the many interesting things Hana Swieca has done was create wonderful images:
- The oak tree helps keep us strong
- The balloon in which to blow all our fears
- The lion to feel strong and confident, etc….
These images feed the imagination and provide an immediate way to combat any negative statement we might have. The aim is to create a positive counterforce that is so imprinted in our minds and our hearts, it becomes automatic.
These 2 books are a sure fire way to fight powerlessness, insecurity, and lack of self-esteem. All these things being the lot of childhood since this period of our lives in under full adult control and our lives are not our own.

If you have children of any age, I truly recommend the following books: "Jonathan’s Magical Discoveries" and its companion, "Discovering Me".
On a personal level, my children loved the storybook. It is inspirational and truly touches the journey our children take down their path. It allows children to be themselves and live their dreams.
My children have started the companion book "Discovering Me", and all I can say is that it is amazing how much they are intrigued by it and want to know more...To them colours are not just colours anymore. They are a great part of our life with greater meaning. For me as a mother and as a therapist, it is a great tool for home and at the office. Everyone from children to adults can benefit. It enables us to have the right understanding and tools to empower our children and our lives. It allows children to be unique and make their own journey in their space of comfort and at their pace.

I read "Jonathan’s Magical Discoveries" by Hana Swieca to my children and I found it truely inspirational. She has a magical way of mesmerizing us in this beautiful journey.
